Mammals as commercial product- The mammalian products are used by human beings in the form of food, shelter, medicine and other products.
- The skin, hairs, furs are used for the protection and covering of the human body.
- Wild boars, Kangaroos, seals ,sea lions are hunted for their hides.
- The hair and wool of sheep and goat are used in formation of fabrics.
- The mammals are also used as medicine. The cow and goat milk is given to diseased person because it is easily digested.
- The whale liver provides a good quantity of vitamin A which is highly effective for eye abnormality.
- Whales are haunted for the oil which is used primarily in manufacturing of soap and paints.
- The well known sperm oil, a waxy fat, is used in candle formation and also used in cosmetics and ointment and also in detergent and shoe polishes.
- Cow dung is used as fertilizer in Indian villages and its dried form is used as a source of burning fuel for cooking.
- Cow dung is also being used in production of gobar gas which is source of light and cooking fuel in Indian villages.
- Musk is produced by Asian and African civets and American deer.It is frequently used in the perfume industry.
- Ambergris is a waxy substance found in the intestines of some sperm whales, also used in the perfume industry.
- Ivory is obtained from elephants and walruses. It is used in making the keys of piano and ball of billiards.
- From the carcass of mammals, fat is obtained which is widely used in preparation of soap and lubricants in the leather and textile industry.
- Bone of dead animals is used in preparation of weapons for defense and offence both.
- Bone charcoal is used in the sugar industry for clearing molasses. Bone are used in manufacture of phosphate fertilizer.
- Gems and gelatin are obtained from the skeleton of a whale used in the manufacture of photographic films.
