  • Some  groups in mammals like  carnivora, Rodentia , Ungulates comprise fur bearing animals. These animals play an important role in the flourishing of the fur industry. 
  • Fur of these animals are used for several purposes. This industry is prevalent all over the world where fur bearing animals are found in majority.
  • It is not possible to describe all animals used for industries but some are being described.
  • Badger animals are found in Russia ,America, Japan etc. The hairs of these animals  are used in Shaving brushes. Badger are nocturnal and carnivorous.
  • The fur of American Badger is regarded as the best fur.
  • Beaver is found in Canada , Russia , Norway etc.This animal is identified with its paddle-like tail.
  • The fur of these animals is chestnut shade.
  • Stoat  is the animal that has the most famous fur in the world. This fur is known as Ermine.
  • This animal has special feature that the natural covering changes during the winter It is light brown in summer but turn into white with the arrival of winter. The fur of this animal is used as garment for children.
  • Fox has different types of varieties all over the world. Some examples are Blue fox, Cross fox, Red fox, silver fox etc.
  • Foxes are commonly used in the fur industry. Lamb is found almost all over the world. Its fur is extremely popular.
  • Marten is also used in the fur industry .There are four species of Marten that are commonly used in the fur industry.
  • The fur of Marten is silky, dark brown in color .Dark coloured fur of Marten is very valuable.
  • Mink  is another animal found in Canada, USA, Russia, China etc. In Canada it is one of the  prominent fur bearing animals .
  • The fur of these animals is used in garments of both male and female.
  • Musquash is found from Alaska to Virginia.
  • The fur of this animal is chestnut brown and under the surface of the fur is blue in color.
  • It is warm and durable and has great demand for coats.
