It is known that three- fourth of the land surface is covered by water. There are different water bodies in worlds like sea, ocean, pond etc and different kinds of aquatic creatures are present in these water bodies. Out of these fish is one of the important creatures.
Fishery provides food and employment for people who reside in coastal areas. Largest number of products are obtained by the fish industry.
Fish Body oil is extracted from fatty tissue of fish.It is generally used for industrial purposes like lubricant, cosmetics and paints. Sardine, Salmon, Herring. and other fish are used for extraction of fish body oil.
Fish liver oil has the greatest medicinal use and is obtained from the liver of fish. This oil is rich in vitamin A and vitamin D. The percentage of vitamin A varies from fish to fish species.
The liver oil that had a higher percentage of vitamin A known as cod liver oil. Tuna fish and hammer Headed shark has liver oil with moderate percentage of vitamin A.
Fish meal is prepared from waste of Fish liver oil generally cod liver oil, Waste of cod liver oil are known as white fish meal. Fish meal is rich in protein and this protein is highly nutritive and digestible. This fish meal is also used as food for domestic animals like pigs, poultry cattle, etc.
Fish flour is highly rich in nutrients. It is easily digestable for the infant of 5 month and may be taken in the form of biscuits, bread cakes etc. But fish flour has a bad smell so it is chemically treated to remove the bad smell.
Fish Fertilizer is the waste that is generated during preparation of fish meal ,and is used as fish manure. This manure is very useful for tea, coffee, tobacco plantation. Black fish called Albunus are found in Europe, Pyrenees and the Alps region. The scales of these fish are used in the formation of artificial pearls.
Isinglass is collagen obtained from the air bladder of catfish and carps. This air bladder is scrapped in a good manner and used in preparation of purses, honey, ribbon etc. Bes quality isinglass is manufactured in Russia.
Fish meal is the Waste materials of fish except Horse mackerels, Mackerel and sardines. This waste material of fish that is obtained after extraction of oil and the flesh of non-oily fishes. After the extraction , this is dried in the sun or dried at high temperature. After that this material is used for feeding cattle, pigs, poultry birds and also used as manure in coffee, tea and tobacco crop.
Fish Silage is obtained When flesh of fish is administered with hydrochloric acid and fumic acid, A semi-solid material is formed, called fish silage. Fish silage is rich in nutrition and most of the vitamins constituent are present in it .
Shark Fin is used in soup in China and the Philippines.
👌👌Remember - Caudal fin of Shark is not used in fish Silage.
Fish Glue is prepared by grinding the fish bone and skin. After grinding, it is treated with the steam for 6—12 hours and acetic acid and water. After that, the remaining liquid is separated in the form of fish glue.It is water soluble and adhesive.It is used in court stamps, book binding and repairing of shoes.
